I’ve use Julio Carvalho, a contractor, to build out a new full bath as well as additional painting and plaster and another neighbor used him to build a new kitchen and two baths and both of us were very pleased with his work.  His prices are well below the high end contractors and he does excellent work which included a complete repair of the ceilings in two rooms that had suffered extensive water damage.  You can use my name as a reference.  I can recommend him without reservation.
