[Lincolnparkdc] [neighbors-ch] Anybody else have their tires stolen last night?

Even if your insurance covers the theft of the wheels, the aggravation and potential damage to the rest of the car may be considerable.  I’ve suggested purchasing wheel locks in the past. They are not probably not thief-proof but they may force even an organized gang to look elsewhere, perhaps Potomac, Georgetown or Alexandria, if enough Hill people secure their wheels.  The cost is about $25.  I’ve ordered a set from Amazon.  And, no, I have no idea whether they’ll actually deter thieves but there’s enough of this crime going on that it may help.

Clearly the police are not able to find the thieves in the act and they work fast - they can strip the wheels off a car in less than 10 minutes.  A little self-insurance might well be in order.
