[Lincolnparkdc] Is this your visitor blocking a fire hydrant?

Every driver should know better than to park in front of a fire hydrant.  However, when we provide our guests with Visitor Parking passes, we should inform them that their vehicle will be towed if they park next to a hydrant.  If the pass belongs to a rental or AirBNB, renters should be provided with that info.  Gina et al, thanks for taking immediate action.Hazel Kreinheder

Thanks for the info about parking, Martha.  However, if any one of our homes was ever on fire, someone parking in front of the hydrant could mean the difference between a home being saved or not.  There is one way to ensure that this stops ASAP and that is calling the police as soon as you see it.  I am going to do that, and I recommend it for all of us.
Visitor or no, everyone with a driver’s license knows what is at stake when you block a hydrant.

Yes, I have noticed also that people keep using this as their personal parking space. Over the weekend, another car with out of town tags parked here each night for 2 days and left it there well into the afternoon hours. After seeing it parked for two days in a row, I called and reported it and they did give them a parking ticket. But this is really totally inexcusable behavior and I hope this doesn't turn into a routine habit.

This is the second time this week I have observed this car blocking the fire hydrant in the 100 block of Ky. The photos were taken at 5 AM Thursday. I’m writing this at 7:45 AM. I think it’s safe to say the car was parked here overnight and on the previous occasion as well.

There is a visitor’s parking pass on the dash. If this is your visitor please help us maintain a safe neighborhood. If you are aware of this and not taking action you are complicit in the illegal and endangering behavior of your visitor.
