[Lincolnparkdc] Political Sign Vandals

Apparently someone is vandalizing Jessica Sutter’s signs, tearing them down and leaving them strewn about, or just plain stealing them.  It’s occurring on the Hill as well as in other areas of DC.

This is not merely a criminal act, specifically outlawed in DC.  It also manifests the malignant political incivility that has become the norm in national and now local politics.’'

This form of political vandalism is also stupid since it’s a criminal act and, with the increasing preponderance of residential security cameras facing the street, the miscreants have undoubtedly been captured on camera and are likely to be charged.

Residents who oppose a candidate should vote for another one.  Speak out publicly. Use your own name.  Stand up.  Political vandalism is cowardly.  

In full disclosure, I support Jessica Sutter.  I’m sure her opposition is a perfectly nice person who, upon being informed of this vandalism, apparently in support of his candidacy, will make an effort to stop it.  That would be the  civil and responsible thing to do.
