This incident has been reported by a neighbor

Please remain cautious while walking around the neighborhood.  On my way
home from school around 7:45pm, I was suddenly approached and surrounded by
six or seven adolescent males an the intersection of North Carolina and 9th
Street SE. They physically grabbed me, swiped at my hand for my phone, and
demanded my wallet.  I was able to get into the lanes, where a car (and
others) stopped to help me.
