[Lincolnparkdc] BBQ Brisket to die for... from Peter Bug

I am not sure how many in the neighborhood are aware of Peter Bug.  The city even gave him his own street name.   He has been running a shoe repair business for over 40 years.    As a side activity, he has been feeding the hungry with a giant BBQ every Saturday... so his neighbors had a place to eat for one guaranteed meal...if options where limited.  For the last 15 years I have been in the neighborhood I have had a BBQ hotdog or two... on a Saturday... and a shoe repair or two or 10 ever so often.  😁

Reason for this email... Did you know with the the turn of the neighbohood, he still cooks but a few of us put in a request here and there?  BBQ whole chicken, a large BBQ brisket for a party...   In fact I am planning an orphans xmas for a small group of family and friends... and center stage is Peter Bugs Beef Brisket.   I am not sure he is making a big business out of it.  But if you want something local and from a man with a heart of gold who still does a shoe repair for a reasonable price and a brisket for a song...  Go have a chat with him.  He is on opposite side of street from Frager's but closer to 13th/PeterBug St.  and D st SE.   While chatting with him, a man came by and ordered a whole chicken from him for pick up an hour later... 

Fun... and so terrific to have such a wonderful, character filled and kind man in our midst.   What makes Capitol Hill... Capitol Hill.  😊
