This is really scary. I have lived here for 45+ years and even during the crack years, it was not like this. It is not a safe neighborhood anymore and we need to start thinking like it is. The diversity in Cap Hill is not like it was in the early days.  Therefore I feel like an oasis just waiting to be picked off. Truthfully I’d like to know if they catch these folks?  The police or our reps don’t quite get it yet. It’s like all the violence with mass shootings.  It seems like we c it as an aberration.  No.  This is the life we have chosen to raise kids in. It is so unhealthy and is not acceptable. Who is doing what? For whom? And what is known. Any feedback from police?  This is the wild Wild West. I don’t think I want to live in such a violent city and community.
My opinion.  So why not move u may be saying.  Possible.

I use a Logitech Circle 2 camera. I prefer to use plug-in rather than battery-powered units. You should consider whether the device features video stored in an off-site cloud, a local server, or on-device. Cloud storage may require a subscription fee (which is not covered by a rebate).

Police came by to check our camera but unfortunately it doesn’t extend to that corner. Another reminder to all to install security cameras. City will reimburse the cost. If we all had them we would have caught this on camera.

Dear Friends,

Last night at about 9:00 pm  my daughter's au pair and her friend were held up at gunpoint right outside my daughter's house, on 12th St. SE just south of Independence, as they were walking home together. The two young women were forced back into the alley beside the house, where they were robbed. The man tried to get their keys and asked where they lived--the quick-witted au pair told him they were just babysitters and didn't live anywhere nearby. But he kept them there for a while.

This is the second incident involving my daughter's family in the last couple of months The first was the mugging of my 10-year-old grandson's friend just north of Lincoln Park as he walked home from school after my grandson parted to come to our house.

Mike and Charles--several weeks ago there was an ANC meeting with the police, I think, to discuss the uptick in crime here. I haven't heard anything. What is happening?
